Resumen

Natural products have represented an excellent source for drug discovery and development. Among them, diterpenes display many pharmacological properties with therapeutic potential. A series of labdane diterpenes derivatives from solidagenone (isolated from the rhizomes of Solidago chilensis) have been tested for antiinflammatory activity in targets related to the inflammatory process. Uncontrolled inflammation could lead to serious disorders due to the overproduction of inflammatory mediators, in consequence of uncontrolled inflammasome activation and the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory enzymes, playing critical roles in numerous pathological conditions.
